Liberty Christian Academy of Richlands is an accredited, independent, non-denominational Christian school serving Onslow and surrounding counties.  We were founded in 2013, and we are focused on giving our students a high quality, Christ-centered, college preparatory education that prepares them for their futures.  LCA is committed to meeting the individual needs of each student through small class sizes and individualized learning.   We offer programs in music, arts, drama, sports, technology and more.

Please see the frequently asked questions below.  If you would like to ask us for more information, please feel free to contact us.

What are LCA’s school hours?

Our school day is from 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday (Transitional Kindergarten dismisses at 2:30). LCA students dismiss early every Friday at 1:45 p.m. Students may be dropped off at our campus no earlier than 7:40am and are to be picked up no later than 3:00pm.

We also offer wrap-around care outside our normal school hours for an additional fee.  Wrap-around care is available at LCA 7:30-5:30 daily for a $50 weekly fee. If extended hours are needed, students may enroll in aftercare at New Beginnings Child Care for $92.00 per week. New Beginnings wrap-around hours are 6 am – 6 pm daily, and LCA will transport the students to and from school.

Can you explain how lunch is ordered?

LCA caters from outside vendors, including Golden Corral, Chick-Fil-A, Dominos, Jersey Mikes, and Smithfields. Lunches are ordered on ParentsWeb in advance by 9:00am each Monday morning. Milk, juice, tea, and sodas are available for purchase daily. Students are always welcome to pack a lunchbox. Students also need to bring a healthy snack daily.

What is your school dress code?

Our school uniform consists of solid color polos or solid color button-down shirts.  Shirts cannot have any logos, patterns or stripes.  Pants, shorts, or skirts may be worn in a navy blue or khaki color.  Shorts and skirts must be knee length. Any color shoes may be worn, but no flip-flops, light up, skate, or otherwise distracting shoes are permitted. Fridays are dress-down days, and students are permitted to wear non-uniform clothes.

What credentials do your teachers have?

Our teaching staff comes to us with years of experience teaching in private and public school settings.  Many of our teachers have earned graduate or post graduate degrees.  Teachers at LCA are required to have at least a degree from an accredited institution that relates to their field of teaching.  See our staff page for more information.

What Bible translation do you use?

LCA incorporates a formal Bible class into the curriculum of every grade level.  The Bible is the primary textbook for Bible class, and is also used occasionally in other subjects.  Students may use any quality translation of the Bible that they prefer, as long as it is an accurate translation suitable for classroom study.

Scripture memory is also a very important part of our Bible education.  Scripture memory for elementary grades will be taken from KJV, NKJV, NIV or HCSB and all students in a given classroom will memorize the same translation.  In middle and high school, students will memorize from HCSB, ESV, NASB, NKJV, or AMP. Teachers will designate the translation version to be memorized and will provide print outs for the whole class.

Do you provide transportation?

Yes, we provide transportation from various locations in Onslow and Duplin counties.    There is an additional fee for students who wish to use the busing service.

What kind of elective classes do you offer?

We offer various specials throughout the week.  Elementary classes will take physical education, art, music, computers, and Spanish every week.  Students will leave their normal classroom and be taught by a specials teacher.

Middle school students can select their choice of a fine art elective (taken twice weekly) and will also be able to take PE, computers, and/or Spanish.
